Mahir is a Senior Economist leading macro research, forecasting, and scenario analysis on the US economy. He supports Swiss Re's strategic planning and asset allocation with respect to market developments and the economic environment, and frequently speaks on economic related topics. His research includes monthly and quarterly US economic outlooks, along with frequent economic insights on current events and developments in the macro environment. Mahir is a key contributor to Swiss Re's flagship sigma reports – a research series on the insurance industry and macroeconomic trends. He has been cited in the Wall Street Journal, Bloomberg, NPR, and other financial media outlets.

Mahir holds a master's degree from New York University and a bachelor's degree from Pace University.

Greg serves as Director of Insurance Solutions, focusing on general portfolio strategies, asset allocation and risk management solutions for the insurance industry, both traditional and in the world of alternative risk transfer.  In 2023, 2022 and 2021, he was recognized by Captive International as Insurance Asset Manager of the Year. He also serves as a faculty member for the International Center for Captive Insurance Education.  Greg began his career in 1987 and has served as Senior Portfolio Manager for the Institutional Asset Management arms of both SunTrust and Bank of America with a specialization in insurance company portfolio management. From there, he served as Managing Director and Chief Investment Officer for Sovereign Advisers and Lead Strategist and Director of Fixed Income for Boyd Watterson Asset Management. Greg earned a BS in Economics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and is a member of the CFA Institute.

Robert F. Cataldo serves as Vice President and Chief Investment and Strategy Officer.

Mr. Cataldo joined UFG as a Senior Portfolio Manager in 2011. In 2015, he was promoted to Assistant Vice President. In 2018, he was named Vice President and Strategy Officer. In 2020, Robert was elected Vice President and Chief Investment and Strategy Officer.

Mr. Cataldo holds a BA in Economics from the University of Notre Dame and an MBA from Drake University. He also holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) professional designation.

Xiaowei Han joined TIAA as the Head of ALM in Feb 2019. She leads the Asset Liability Management function and the construction of economic capital framework. Before joining TIAA, Xiaowei had worked in Transamerica since 2008 with experience in variable annuities, fixed annuities, universal life, retirement & pension, and institutional business. During her time in Transamerica, Xiaowei led the universal life valuation and modelling function. She also headed the Enterprise ALM function which focuses on holistic hedging/ALM management, General Account asset and derivative modelling, and aggregated ALM reporting across all lines of business. Prior to this role, she was a Financial Risk Manager who was responsible for identifying financial risk in ALM/Hedging strategies, modelling and pricing to the annuities, retirement, and institutional business. Her other experience included managing General Account ALM for annuities, retirement, and institutional business, designing and building Variable Annuity hedge strategies as well as Variable and Fixed Annuity Statutory Reporting.

Xiaowei holds a Master of Science degree in Actuarial Science from the University of Iowa, a Master of Science degree in Physical Chemistry from Nanjing University, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from Nanjing University. She holds the following designations: Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA), Chartered Financial Analyst

(CFA®) charter holder, and Member of American Academy of Actuaries (MAAA).

Angela Cantillon is currently Vice President, Investments and Enterprise Treasury for Wawanesa Mutual Insurance Company, a Canadian P&C company. She is responsible for co-leading the management of $7 billion of enterprise-wide invested assets in addition to leading the enterprise-wide Treasury function. Prior to joining Wawanesa, she was an Associate Partner at Aon Hewitt Investment Consulting. While at Aon, she managed the Chicago hedge fund team and was responsible for working with a number of large institutional clients on the construction of direct hedge fund portfolios. Prior to Aon Hewitt, Angela held a number of roles as both a consultant and allocator.

She holds a MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and a B.S. degree in Finance from Northern Illinois University. She is a CFA charter holder, a CAIA charter holder, and is a member of the CFA Society of Chicago. Additionally, she volunteers her time with the Illinois Children’s Healthcare Foundation, is an active volunteer at her son’s primary school and has held various volunteer roles in community organizations on the Northwest side of Chicago.

Builders, with $360 million in surplus and $1.1 billion in assets under management, $245+mm in annual premium and 200 employees, has been an integral part of the Worker’s Compensation, General Liability and Commercial Insurance markets in the Southeast for 32 years.

Todd also serves as Chair of the Board of Directors of Sagicor Life Insurance company, part of the Sagicor group, a 150-year-old insurer based in Barbados and Bermuda, and publicly traded on the Toronto Stock exchange. He also serves as chair of the Sagicor Investment and Risk board committee, with $5+ billion in assets under management.

Todd attended Appalachian State University as an undergraduate and received a law degree from Mercer University’s Woodruff School of Law in Georgia.

An alumnus of North Illinois University, George earned the prestigious designation of Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA®) from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business in 1997. He attained the Alternative Investments Director designation in 2014. As a Consulting Group Associate, he pioneered the institutional consulting program in the firm’s Barrington, Illinois, branch. In 1990, he became a Consulting Group Director, focusing on key institutional relationships. He is also a member of the Investment Management Consultants Association and has served on the board and on the Best Practices committee of the Association of Professional Investment Consultants.


A strong believer in giving back, George is passionate about community service, particularly issues of justice and poverty. He has made regular humanitarian trips to Cuba, and actively volunteers for a number of nonprofit agencies, including Bright Hope International, International Justice Mission, and World Relief.


In recognition for his dedication to his community and his clients, George has received numerous distinctions and professional accolades throughout his career. In 2011, Registered Rep magazine awarded George the “Altruism Award: Advisors with Heart,” honoring advisors who exemplify the highest standards of professionalism and are active in charitable giving and mentoring. Brian Manczak is a senior managing director, portfolio manager and head of insurance solutions on the fixed income team at PPM America, Inc. (PPM). He is responsible for overseeing the management of Jackson National Life Insurance Company’s general account and is responsible for asset allocation, capital management, risk management and the evaluation of new asset classes for the general account. Additionally, Brian is a portfolio manager for the Jackson National Life Insurance Company’s investment grade corporate bond portfolio. Previously, he was a senior member of PPM’s investment grade private credit team.
Prior to joining PPM in 2008, Brian worked in the investment banking department at Lehman Brothers and began his career at
Arthur Andersen. He earned a master’s degree in business administration from the University of North Carolina and a bachelor’s degree in accounting and finance from Miami University (Ohio). He is a CFA® charterholder.
